Kelli, Colin & Juliette's Disney Getaway

Your day-by-day plan from a monorail-front seat at the Polynesian — four park days, thrill-ride game plans, two special meals, and all my insider notes.

🌴🎉🏟🍣✨

Hi Kelli! 🌴 Here's the whole week mapped out for you, Colin & Juliette — your park days, your Lightning Lane game plans (thrill-forward, just how these two will like it), your two big meals, and a pile of insider notes. All hours come straight from My Disney Experience, but Disney can tweak them, so give the app a peek each morning.

🌟 Don't miss your Extended Evening Hours

Because you're staying Deluxe at the Polynesian, you get bonus after-hours park time on two nights — most rides open, with very light crowds. Valid park admission for that park is all you need (your Park Hopper covers it):
  • Mon, Oct 5 · EPCOT — 9:00–11:00 PM (great for a low-crowd Food & Wine hop after Animal Kingdom).
  • Wed, Oct 7 · Hollywood Studios — 9:00–11:00 PM (near walk-on thrill rides — the plan is built around this one).
📅

Your Day-by-Day Plan

Sunday · Arrival

October 4 — Check-In at the Polynesian

Check in after 3:00 PM at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. Use Online Check-In in the app so you can head straight to your room when it's ready.

Settle into the South Pacific magic: the Lava Pool with its volcano slide, the white-sand beach facing Cinderella Castle across the lagoon, and the famous Dole Whip at Pineapple Lanai (yes, the original is right at your resort!).

🎆 A magical first night, free of charge

From the Poly beach you can watch Magic Kingdom's fireworks light up the sky across the water (with the music piped in), followed by the Electrical Water Pageant floating by around 9:00 PM. A perfect, low-key welcome to the trip.
Monday · Park Day 1

🟩 Animal Kingdom

Park Hours 8:00 AM – 6:00 PM · Early Theme Park Entry 7:30 AM (resort perk). Bus from the Poly.

🍳 Booked ✓ — Rainforest Cafe Dinner

5:15 PM · Rainforest Cafe at Animal Kingdom entrance · a fun jungle-themed wind-down before you head back to the resort. (Pay-as-you-go — no dining plan on this trip.)

⚡ Suggested Lightning Lane game plan (thrill-forward, from early entry):

  • Rope dropAvatar Flight of PassageLL Single · Pandora — 44″ · the #1 headliner, ride first or buy the individual pass
  • 9:15–10:15Kilimanjaro SafarisLL Multi · Africa — go in the morning while the animals are most active

  • 12:00–1:00Na'vi River JourneyLL Multi · Pandora — gentle & gorgeous
  • 1:30–2:30Kali River RapidsLL Multi · Asia — 38″ · get soaked (perfect in the Florida heat)
  • Add-onRe-ride Expedition EverestLL Multi · once you redeem a pick, grab another — Everest is worth a second lap

✨ Don't-miss at Animal Kingdom

  • Festival of the Lion King — a Broadway-level show; the whole family will love it.
  • Pandora — The World of Avatar: the floating mountains, and the bioluminescent glow as dusk approaches.
  • The walking trails: Maharajah Jungle Trek (tigers!) and Gorilla Falls — real animals up close.
  • Feathered Friends in Flight bird show & the Tree of Life at the park's heart.

🍉 Snack stop: the glowing Night Blossom at Pongu Pongu in Pandora, and Flame Tree Barbecue for a great lunch with hidden waterfront seating.

🌟 Optional perk tonight: EPCOT Extended Evening Hours

Animal Kingdom closes at 6:00 PM, but tonight EPCOT stays open 9:00–11:00 PM just for Deluxe resort guests like you. If the crew's got gas in the tank after Rainforest Cafe, hop the monorail over for low-crowd Food & Wine grazing and a few rides — a lovely way to knock out EPCOT (see the flexible EPCOT day & Food & Wine guide below).
Tuesday · Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

🎃 Halloween Party Night

Party 7:00 PM – midnight · party guests enter Magic Kingdom from 4:00 PM · monorail straight from the Poly.

🎈 Booked ✓ — Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party

Tue, Oct 6, 2026 · Magic Kingdom · 3 tickets (2 ages 10+, 1 age 3–9) · Conf FPKC87121111 · Paid in full ✓
Your party ticket gets you into Magic Kingdom from 4:00 PM — so you get a few hours of regular park time plus the whole after-hours party.

☀️ Your daytime is wide open

With a late night ahead, an easy day is smart: sleep in, enjoy the Lava Pool, and rest up so everyone's fresh for the party. Head to Magic Kingdom by 4:00 PM — your party ticket gets you in early — to make the most of the evening.

✨ Don't-miss at the party

  • Mickey's “Boo-to-You” Halloween Parade — the Headless Horseman gallops out first; it's the highlight of the night.
  • Disney's Not-So-Spooky Spectacular — a party-exclusive fireworks & castle-projection show.
  • Hocus Pocus Villain Spelltacular stage show & Stitch's Tomorrowland dance party.
  • Trick-or-treat trails all over the park — bring a bag for the candy!
  • Rare characters in Halloween costumes you won't find any other time.

🎃 Party tips: costumes are welcome at this event (yes, even the grown-ups — just follow Disney's costume guidelines), crowds are lighter so ride waits are short, and you won't need Lightning Lane during party hours. Arrive by 4:00 PM to squeeze out every magical minute.

Wednesday · Park Day · Extended Evening Hours!

🎬 Hollywood Studios

Park Hours 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM · Early Theme Park Entry 8:30 AM · Extended Evening Hours 9:00–11:00 PM (your Deluxe perk). Bus from the Poly.

🌟 Your big perk night — use it!

As Polynesian (Deluxe) guests you get two bonus hours tonight, 9:00–11:00 PM, with most of the park open and tiny crowds. Hollywood Studios is the thrill park — so that's near walk-on rides on Rise of the Resistance, Slinky Dog, the coasters & more. A total jackpot for Colin & Juliette. Stay as late as everyone's energy allows (no pressure to close it out).

⚡ Suggested Lightning Lane game plan:

  • Top pickStar Wars: Rise of the ResistanceLL Single · Galaxy's Edge — 40″ · the best ride at Walt Disney World, hands down

  • Fantasmic! nighttime show — get there early for a seat.
  • Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular & Beauty and the Beast — Live on Stage.

🍷 When to do EPCOT & Food & Wine

  • Monday-night hop: EPCOT has its own Extended Evening Hours 9:00–11:00 PM on Mon, Oct 5 — after Animal Kingdom & the Rainforest Cafe dinner, hop over for low-crowd Food & Wine grazing (your Deluxe perk again!).
  • Or its own relaxed day: you have a park day to spare, and a leisurely World Showcase + Food & Wine day is a lovely change of pace. Just say the word and I'll set it.

Thursday · Park Day 4

🏰 Magic Kingdom

Park Hours 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM for day guests · Early Theme Park Entry 8:30 AM. Monorail straight from the Poly — your easiest park morning of the trip.

👑 Booked ✓ — Cinderella's Royal Table Breakfast

9:25 AM · inside Cinderella Castle · Conf #356221546675 — you literally dine in the castle, with a rotating court of Disney Princesses. The bucket-list meal of the trip, and pure magic for Juliette.

🎃 Heads-up: the park closes at 6:00 PM for day guests

The 8th is another Halloween Party night, so Magic Kingdom closes to day guests at 6:00 PM (your party night is Tuesday the 6th, so today you're day guests). Make the most of a full morning-to-evening with your Lightning Lanes — then when the park closes at 6, use your Park Hopper to monorail-hop to EPCOT for a Food & Wine dinner and the Luminous finale, or head back to the Poly to rest.

⚡ Suggested Lightning Lane game plan (compact day after your 9:25 breakfast):

  • Top pickTRON Lightcycle / RunLL Single · Tomorrowland — 48″ · the headliner Colin will want first
  • SingleSeven Dwarfs Mine TrainLL Single · Fantasyland — 38″
  • MultiSpace MountainLL Multi · Tomorrowland — 44″
  • MultiBig Thunder MountainLL Multi · Frontierland — 40″
  • Add-onTiana's Bayou Adventure, Haunted Mansion & Jungle CruiseLL Multi · round out the day

Heads-up: tonight's castle fireworks are the party-exclusive show, so as day guests you'll wrap up by 6:00 PM — a perfect cue for that EPCOT monorail hop to catch the Luminous finale.

Friday · Departure

👋 October 9 — Check-Out

Check out before 11:00 AM (Conf #42734231). Bell Services can hold your bags if your flight's later, so you can squeeze in one last Dole Whip, a lap of the monorail loop, or breakfast at Kona Cafe before you go.

💕 One last magical moment — a family photo on the Poly beach with the castle across the water.

Your Lightning Lane Guide

Lightning Lane is Disney's paid skip-the-line system (it replaced Genie+ and FastPass+). It's the single biggest way to save hours in line — here's everything you need, tailored to your four parks. Don't worry about memorizing it; I'll book these with you when your window opens.

The three kinds of passes

Multi Pass

Your workhorse. Pre-book 3 rides with arrival windows; once you tap into one, add another, and keep refilling all day. Best value at busy parks.

Single Pass

For the biggest headliners not in Multi Pass. Buy à la carte, up to 2 per day, each with an arrival window. This is how you skip the lines on the top-tier rides.

Premier Pass

The splurge: one price, skip every Lightning Lane in a park once, no scheduling. Pricey and limited — usually only worth it on the busiest days.

📅 When you book — set an alarm!

Sunday, September 27 · 7:00 AM ET

That's your booking window — a full 4 days ahead of off-site guests — and you can book your whole trip at once. The top Single Passes (Flight of Passage, Rise of the Resistance, TRON, Guardians) can sell out within hours, so being ready right at 7:00 sharp really matters.

⏰ Set a phone alarm for 6:55 AM so you're logged into My Disney Experience and ready to go — or just let me know and I'll book them all for you the second the window opens. Whichever's easier for you!

How Multi Pass tiers work

  • At Magic Kingdom, EPCOT & Hollywood Studios, your 3 advance picks are 1 from Tier 1 (the headliners) + 2 from Tier 2. At Animal Kingdom there are no tiers — pick any 3.
  • After you tap into your first ride, you can book another (you hold up to 3 at a time), then keep refilling as you go. Grab your Tier 1 ride first — those windows disappear fastest.
  • With your Park Hopper, once you've used a pass you can even book your next one at a different park — handy for that MK → EPCOT evening.
  • Scan in from 5 minutes before to 15 minutes after your arrival window. Character meet-and-greets are not included — those always use standby.

Your park-by-park cheat sheet

🏰 Magic Kingdom · Thu Oct 8

Single Pass — buy these

TRON Lightcycle / Run and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train — the two big ones, sold separately. Worth it here.

Multi Pass — grab first

Tier 1 (pick 1): Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Tiana's Bayou Adventure, Jungle Cruise, or Peter Pan's Flight.
Tier 2 (pick 2): Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, Buzz Lightyear, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh.

🟩 Animal Kingdom · Mon Oct 5

Single Pass — buy this

Avatar Flight of Passage — the #1 headliner and the one Single Pass worth buying here.

Multi Pass — no tiers, pick any 3

Top picks: Expedition Everest, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Na'vi River Journey & Kali River Rapids. On a calmer day you may only need one Single Pass here.

🌐 EPCOT · flexible · Food & Wine day

Single Pass — buy this

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — the park's headliner coaster, sold separately.

Multi Pass — grab first

Tier 1 (pick 1): Test Track, Frozen Ever After, or Remy's Ratatouille Adventure.
Tier 2 (pick 2): Soarin', Mission: SPACE, Spaceship Earth, The Seas with Nemo & Friends.

🎬 Hollywood Studios · Wed Oct 7

Single Pass — buy this

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — the must-do headliner, sold separately.

Multi Pass — grab first

Tier 1 (pick 1): Slinky Dog Dash, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run, Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, or Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway.
Tier 2 (pick 2): Tower of Terror, Toy Story Mania, or Star Tours.

🎯 Best strategy — what to book first

Single Passes sell out fastest, so grab those the instant the window opens — in this priority order:

  1. Avatar Flight of Passage — Animal Kingdom (Mon, Oct 5)
  2. Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance — Hollywood Studios (Wed, Oct 7)
  3. TRON Lightcycle / Run — Magic Kingdom (Thu, Oct 8)
  4. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind — EPCOT

Then set your Multi Pass picks, park by park: grab the Tier 1 ride first (Slinky Dog Dash at Hollywood Studios and a mountain at Magic Kingdom disappear quickest), then add two Tier 2 rides.

Leave the gentle, low-wait rides (Spaceship Earth, easy dark rides) for standby, and keep refilling Multi Pass after each tap-in on park days — I'll show you exactly how.

A note on what's worth it: Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios are where Lightning Lane pays off most (lots of high-demand rides). EPCOT and Animal Kingdom are often fine with just one Single Pass on a calmer day — we'll decide together based on the crowd forecast for your exact dates. Prices and ride tiers can shift, so I'll confirm the final picks when we book.

EPCOT Food & Wine Guide

Your EPCOT time lands right in the middle of the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival — and 2026 is its 30th anniversary. More than 30 Global Marketplace booths ring World Showcase with small plates from around the world, and every booth will be open during your stay (whether you graze on the Monday-night Extended Evening Hours hop or give EPCOT its own day). Think of it as grazing your way around the lagoon: little tapas-size bites, mostly $5–$11 each, so you can share and try lots.

🍽️ How it works

Walk up to any booth, order a bite or two, and stroll to the next. Grab a free Festival Passport at the entrance to mark your favorites (Colin & Juliette will love collecting them). Pay with card, Disney Gift Card, or the app — and a Food & Wine wristlet gift card is a fun, hands-free way to pre-load a treat budget for the kids.

Kelsey's must-try savory bites

  • Cheddar & Bacon Soup, pretzel roll LegacyCanada — the festival's most famous bite, a true rite of passage$6.29
  • Slow-roasted Pork SliderHawai'i — sweet-and-sour DOLE pineapple chutney & spicy mayo$5.99

  • Apple Strudel with vanilla sauce LegacyGermany — a warm classic$4.99
  • Pickle Milk ShakeBrew-Wing Lab — the dare-you treat the kids will beg to try$6.49

🍷 For the grown-ups & a few extras

If you'd like a sip, Kelli, the booths pour wine flights (Greece & Australia are easy pours around $7.50), a mimosa flight at Shimmering Sips, and craft beer flights in Germany, Belgium & Canada — France's Chilled Cosmo is a festival favorite too.

While you're in World Showcase: catch a live Eat to the Beat concert at the America Gardens Theatre (check the night's schedule), and let the kids run Pluto's Pumpkin Pursuit scavenger hunt — it winds right through the same booths.

Menus & prices via Disney Food Blog and Undercover Tourist. Booths and items change through the festival, so I'll confirm the current favorites closer to your trip.

Your Polynesian Perks

Staying Deluxe on the monorail loop comes with real advantages — here's how to squeeze every drop:

  • Monorail to Magic Kingdom & EPCOT. Walk downstairs, hop the monorail — MK is minutes away (or take the resort boat). For EPCOT, ride to the Transportation & Ticket Center and transfer. Animal Kingdom & Hollywood Studios are Disney buses.
  • Extended Evening Hours. As Deluxe resort guests you get bonus after-hours park time (fewer crowds, shorter waits) — and there are two nights during your stay: EPCOT on Mon, Oct 5 and Hollywood Studios on Wed, Oct 7, both 9:00–11:00 PM. We've built the plan around both.
  • Early Theme Park Entry every day — 30 minutes before the general public at whichever park you visit.
  • Park Hopper lets you jump parks after 2:00 PM — ideal for a morning at one park and dinner + a show at another (especially easy MK ↔ EPCOT on the monorail).
  • The famous Dole Whip lives at your resort's Pineapple Lanai — and the Poly beach is one of the best free fireworks views on property.
🍟

Best Quick-Service in Your Parks

Animal Kingdom · Flame Tree Barbecue — ribs, pulled pork & a smoked chicken salad, with hidden waterfront seating away from the crowds. A cut above typical counter food.

EPCOT · Regal Eagle Smokehouse (American Adventure) for BBQ, or graze the Food & Wine booths instead of a sit-down meal. Also great: Les Halles pastries in France.

Hollywood Studios · Woody's Lunch Box (Toy Story Land) for a totchos-and-brisket-melt classic, or Docking Bay 7 in Galaxy's Edge for a fun themed meal.

Magic Kingdom · Columbia Harbour House (Liberty Square) — the best counter-service in MK, with a quiet upstairs escape.

At the PolyCapt. Cook's is a solid grab-and-go, and Pineapple Lanai is your Dole Whip HQ.

Quick-service picks via Disney Tourist Blog's Top Counter-Service list — menus shift, so I'll flag any changes.

📋

Good to Know

📱 My Disney Experience is your command center. Digital room key, park tickets, Lightning Lane, Mobile Order, live wait times & PhotoPass all live in the app. Load Kelli, Colin & Juliette in before you leave home.

🍴 Park Hopper rules. You can hop to a second park starting at 2:00 PM — no reservation needed at the hopped-to park, just tap in. Great for monorail dinners at EPCOT.

🍴 No dining plan this trip, so meals are pay-as-you-go. Note Cinderella's Royal Table is a prepaid, prix-fixe experience (already handled), and Rainforest Cafe is paid at the restaurant.

📷 Memory Maker isn't on your package. Disney PhotoPass photographers will still snap your family in the parks and you can view them in the app — if you'd like to download them all (plus ride photos), I can add Memory Maker for you before the trip. Just say the word.

🎵 Mobile Order your quick-service meals to skip the lines, and grab free cups of ice water at any counter in the Florida heat.

⏰ Check park hours each morning in the app — Disney can adjust them — and remember Lightning Lanes modify only in the app, not online.

💡

Kelsey's Top Tips

  • Be ready at 7:00 AM on Sep 27. That's when your Lightning Lane window opens — the individual passes (Flight of Passage, Guardians, Rise, TRON) go fast. I'll be on it with you.
  • Rope-drop the headliners. With older kids you can hit the big rides at early entry, then ease into shows and trails as the parks fill up.
  • Your Halloween Party is set for Tuesday the 6th! Costumes are welcome (yes, even the grown-ups), so pack them — and bring a bag for trick-or-treating. Take Tuesday's daytime easy and arrive by 4:00 PM to soak up every minute.
  • Lean on the monorail. Your resort is one of only a few you can ride straight to Magic Kingdom — use it for a midday break at the Lava Pool and back.
  • Anything to add or tweak? A third dining reservation, Memory Maker, or locking in your Hollywood Studios day — I'm just a message away.

This is your plan — let's make it perfect together.
